With regard to the moral dilemma scenario above, the girl was right in making the steps she undertook in various ways. To begin with, education is a fundamental part of life that promotes enlightenment of individuals about world issues (Cox & Klinger, 2004). Education brings about exposure and enables understanding of general environmental concepts unknown to uneducated persons. Adequate understanding of various global concepts is important in fostering and enhancing problem solving and decision-making skills of individual learners (Kail & Cavanaugh, 2013). The move by the parents to prevent their daughter from continuing with her education in favor of caring for the younger siblings would hamper the girl from gaining the knowledge about various world concepts. Education is an important tool in enhancing individualsââ¬â¢ and social security. Through education, a person is able to gain sufficient self-awareness and self-concept, which are important in enabling nurturing individualsââ¬â¢ relation with the environment and other people (Ungar, 2011). Denying the girl opportunity to continue with her education would compromise the quality of her self-awareness and understanding.
